Key 4, The Emperor: Reason, Vision, The Constituting Intelligence

[Arriving at St Mark's Church: Please enter from the north parking lot, behind the church, at the door nearest the parking lot. Look for signs saying “BOTA Meeting.”

Topic: Key 4, The Emperor. The Constituting Intelligence.
Our focus this month is on Key 4, whose fundamental meaning is Reason and also has much to do with Vision. This refers to both the physical faculty and the inner mental vision we often call insight. This is further suggested by the meaning of the Emperor’s corresponding Hebrew letter Heh, which is “window.” The Emperor shows us rulership and can help us explore the responsibility we have in creating a constitution for our lives, as the reading will discuss.

We will begin with a presentation of a reading on Key 4 from Jason Lotterhand’s book The Thursday Night Tarot. This will be followed by a group discussion of what struck us in the examination of this key, how we can use the powers of The Emperor in our daily lives. We will close with a meditation on the Hebrew letter Heh from The Book of Tokens,
