Topic: Key 6, The Lovers. The Disposing Intelligence.
Our focus this month is on Key 6, whose fundamental meaning is Discrimination, which is essential for telling one thing from another as well as comprehending the different modes and expressions of consciousness within and around us. The Hebrew letter Zain assigned to this Key means “Sword,” an instrument of cleavage. The sense of smell is also associated with this Key and its Hebrew letter, reinforcing the idea of discrimination as people can “smell a rat” or say something doesn’t “pass the smell test” when they are considering subtle details of a situation. The significance of relationships and the assignment of the astrological sign Gemini (the twins) to this Key should also not come as any surprise at this point.

We will begin with a presentation of a reading on Key 6 from Jason Lotterhand’s book The Thursday Night Tarot. This will be followed by a group discussion of what struck us in the examination of this key, how we can use the powers of The Lovers in our daily lives. We will close with a meditation on the Hebrew letter Zain from The Book of Tokens.
