Topic: Key 10, Wheel of Fortune. Intelligence of Desirous Quest. Wealth & Poverty
Our focus this month is on Key 10, which primarily points to Rotation and Cyclic Activity. Most spiritual traditions have an emphasis on cycles, rotation, and transformation, and the symbolism of the wheel as a representation of these concepts is definitely not unique to Western Occultism. In our studies, The Wheel of Fortune depicts the whole cycle of cosmic expansion and borrows imagery popular in other traditions to do so. We can follow the involutionary descent of radiant energy into matter (yellow serpent), to the evolution of consciousness from lower to higher forms (red Hermanubis), ultimately reaching the completion of the evolutionary journey (blue Sphinx). All this and much more is in store for us at this month’s Open Forum.
We will begin with a presentation of a reading on Key 10 from Jason Lotterhand’s book The Thursday Night Tarot. This will be followed by a group discussion of what struck us in the examination of this key, and perhaps how we might access the expansive Jupiterian energy associated with this key in our daily lives. We will close with a meditation on the Hebrew letter Kaph from The Book of Tokens.
