Key 7, The Chariot: Receptivity to Will, Intelligence of the House of Influence

Topic: Key 7, The Chariot. The Intelligence of the House of Influence.
Join us as we start off this year with a focus on the final Key in the top row of our Tarot tableau, Key 7 The Chariot. Among its meanings are the function of speech, receptivity to Will, and physical embodiment. Its Hebrew letter Cheth means “fence” and this relates to those boundaries that allow us to limit our attention to a chosen idea, goal, or any object in general. The idea of a fence of protection is also hinted at by the breastplate worn by the rider in The Chariot, protecting the area of his body which is ruled by the zodiac sign Cancer, which is attributed to this Key. The Chariot is essentially a culmination of all the qualities of the preceding 6 Keys, and includes aspects of their symbolism in one powerful image.
We will begin with a presentation of a reading on Key 7 from Jason Lotterhand’s book The Thursday Night Tarot. This will be followed by a group discussion of what struck us in the examination of this key, how we can use The Chariot in our daily lives. We will close with a meditation on the Hebrew letter Cheth from The Book of Tokens.
