Key 11, Justice: The Faithful Intelligence. Karma.

Arriving at St Mark's Church: Please enter from the north parking lot, behind the church, at the door nearest the parking lot. Look for signs saying “BOTA Meeting.”

Take the first stairway up to the 2nd floor and the meeting space will be the first door on your left. If you need an elevator, ring the doorbell and someone will lead the way.

Topic: Key 11, Justice: The Faithful Intelligence. Karma.
Our focus this month is on Key 11, Justice, which primarily points to Adjustment and the principle of Cause and Effect. The image of the enthroned figure holding sword and scales is one of the most ancient and universal symbols in human culture, yet in our studies Justice carries a meaning that cuts far deeper than civic or moral judgment. Justice depicts the immutable law by which the universe maintains equilibrium; not as punishment or reward, but as the precise and impersonal feedback of cosmic balance. We see this in the Libra attribution of this Key: the scales do not favor, they measure. What we send out returns to us with mathematical certainty, and it is this understanding that the sincere student is invited to internalize.
We will begin with a presentation of a reading on Key 11 from Jason Lotterhand's book The Thursday Night Tarot. This will be followed by a group discussion of what struck us in the examination of this key, and perhaps how we might work consciously with the karmic and balancing forces associated with Justice in our daily lives. We will close with a meditation on the Hebrew letter Lamed from The Book of Tokens.
