Bottles Under Fire Love Edition Wine Tasting
In celebration of the month of love, I'm hosting a premium wine tasting at the art gallery BLEUR Gallery & Studios on Baker St with the arts collective Food of War on Sat 28 Feb.
There are two sessions available: afternoon (2pm-5pm) and evening (7pm-10pm) to choose from. Our previous tasting in October was described by Master of Wine Richard Bampfield as "Without doubt my favourite wine event of 2025 - original, moving and highly stimulating. Each wine was presented with a respect that demonstrated excellent research and dedication to a bigger cause."
The wines featured at this event will tell the story of the relationship between wine, love and war, as well as a retelling of the Ancient Roman origins of Valentines in the Lupercalia festival.
Interwoven with poetry readings and carefully prepared cultural food pairings, you will taste the following wines:
• Traditional method rosé sparkling from Odesa, Ukraine
• A very rare Samarghandi (indigenous Persian grape) red wine from ungrafted, 200+ year-old vines from the Zagros Mountains, Iran
• Cesane d’Affile from the volcanic hills east of Rome
• Amarone della Valpolicella from Verona, the land of Romeo and Juliet
Following the tasting, there will be a surprise Colombian cocktail made by our sponsor for the event, Jaramillo Café, and a live DJ set (Kiki Szemraj) and more wines available at the bar.
Tickets are £69 - however, I'm offering an exclusive discount code for Meetup members, using the code BLEURLOVE on our website here: https://www.foodofwar.org/events
Hope to see you there! Lucas
