Boulder builder Mark Attard started a group of Louisville residents eager to rebuild sensibly after the devastating Marshall fires. The city recently adopted a very progressive code that requires all new construction to be net zero. But is that goal realistic? The short answer is Yes!, if everything starts with a careful design that incorporates modern Passive House building science, and an optimized workflow that keeps cost within the budget.

Mark Attard is a building science expert and operations manager at Hammerwell. He was among the first people in the US to be trained in Passive House methodologies and is a Certified Passive House Tradesperson.
