What we’re about
Purpose: The purpose of this group is to help young people who have lost a partner connect with others who have as well, know that you are not alone with this loss, and be able to begin envisioning a new future.
Location: The group will be in the Boulder Metro area for people between the ages of 30 and 55 who are 6 to 24 months post-loss.
The category of "young" is used to describe a place in life where you may be raising children and/or building your career, typically 55 and under, as opposed to empty-nesters and retirees.This Meetup group is setup so anyone in our group (local to the Boulder Metro Area) can organize and post a gathering or activity.Topics will include:
1.) Individuals sharing their loved one’s stories;
2.) Discussing coping strategies and experiences during the initial grieving;
3.) Supporting children through loss;
4.) Feeling like the odd person out in social situations;
5.) What qualities members miss most about their partners that they would still like to have in a future partner and,
6.) Envisioning future relationships and personal growth.
We will encourage members to meet up for coffee, meals and other social activities to build a sense of community.
