What we’re about
Join us for fun French immersion activities for families in Boulder, Longmont, Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Broomfield, and even sometimes in Denver! We offer family-friendly Francophone events such as arts and crafts, storytimes, nature walks, playdates, and holiday celebrations so that kids (and adults) can speak French together while participating in something interactive. And as the organizer's children are growing up fast, we have also started teen and tween conversation groups (parents not required to attend). Suggest something you'd like to try and we'll add it to the calendar!

Join award-winning teacher Sarah Dodson-Knight for a weekly French immersion playgroup on Monday mornings at 8:30-9:30 from April 7 through May 19 at La Belle French Bakery in Broomfield (1170 Hwy 287 N). Children ages 1-5 will sing songs, play games, do simple crafts, and listen to stories, all in French! (Prior knowledge of French not required.) Cost: $15 per meeting or $60 for a five-visit punch card (cash, checks, PayPal, or Venmo). For more details, leave a question or comment on this page or contact Sarah at 720-838-6325 or sarah.dodson@gmail.com.
Sarah has been teaching French to students of all ages for 25+ years. Founder of Boulder County Fun with French, she led many French playdates and storytimes when her own children were younger and now works as a private tutor, BVSD substitute teacher, and French immersion summer camp counselor. She also offers classes during the day for homeschooled students and drop-in conversation groups (for teens or adults).
- Groupe de Conversation Française: Tea & Talk for Teens & TweensConfluence Small Business Collective, Lafayette, CO
Here's an opportunity for middle and high school students to practice speaking French in a fun, low-stress environment: Tea & Talk for Teens & Tweens is a conversation group that meets on Monday afternoons, 4:15-5:15, through the last Monday of the semester (May 19) at Confluence (a co-working space in Lafayette).
It is open to any student who has had some exposure to French (school, Duolingo, travel, etc.) As most of the participants don't know each other at first, I'll have activities on hand to give us things to talk about--games, crafts, cultural artifacts, realia, very short videos, etc. Tea and sparkling water are available, and students are welcome to bring their own after-school snacks.
Conversation groups are $15 per student per meeting; you can also pre-pay $60 for punch cards good for any five sessions. Drop in for as many or as few as you wish! I accept cash, checks, PayPal, and Venmo.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. (And if Monday afternoon doesn't work for you, suggest another day and time that does, and I'll see what I can do!)
