First Meeting

Details
Hey everyone!
I reserved the South Study room (capacity 6 people) this coming Saturday at 10:00 AM, Longmont Public Library.
The agenda is to meet each other and discuss how meetings will go for coming weeks. Here are some things I want to discuss and decide on:
1. Share our areas of interest and what we want to explore. What is a subject area or skill set in mathematics that you want to build? The goal is to find a book in physical or electronic format to work through together that discusses the fundamentals on a topic we want to learn together. Here are a couple examples: "Irresistible Integrals" by George Boros and Victor H. Moll. It is an introduction to definite integrals and special functions written at an undergraduate level. My personal recommendation. Another not-too theoretical text is "Discrete Calculus Methods of Counting" by Carlo Mariconda and Alberto Tonolo. From table of context, topics including counting, sums, generating functions, recurrences, etc. You might come with other examples of texts you want to try, preferable something written at college level.
2. Create a discussion for next meeting. Besides going over problems from a text, each person will pick a point to expand upon and share what they found. Sort of like a blog post that you talk to us about.
