Celebrate the Inauguration of Rand Paul as President of the United States!

As of today, there are 590.3 days until Presidential Inauguration day. We have our work cut out for us. I am starting from the political goal of installing Rand as POTUS. In the next few weeks, I will be adding dates in reverse, in order to map out a path to get us there. Or at least to pull Boulder County's share of the vote in order to do so. That, and to work shoulder to shoulder with committed activists in neighboring counties and states towards a restoration of our liberties.

I'm Joe Breher - the supposed 'organizer' of this meetup. As I stated some time back (in my only previous email to this list), I stepped up and gave my money to meetup.com, because I did not want to see this dedicated group of liberty activists to scatter to the winds. While I've funded the (negligible) amount to keep this group alive, this 'Boulder Stands with Rand' belongs to all of us. I have some ideas to get things kicked off, but it is only by the concerted effort of all of us that we can make inroads for a new political environment in our Nation, States, County, and municipalities.

What can you do right now? While there is plenty of work to do, I will ask you today for only one action. As someone who supports Rand's ideals, you are surrounded by others of other world views. The redistributors of wealth. The warmongers. The nanny staters. The freedom-banners. The state-controlled money supporters. The crony corporatists. And on and on. But you likely know a few people who believe in the principles espoused in the Declaration of Independence, and as encoded in the Constitution.

What I would like you to do today, is to speak with one associate, living in the vicinity, that is most aligned with a respect for liberty. Tell them about this meetup, and urge them to join. It will take the concerted effort of many to win the vote. But working together, we can sway the vote by our sheer force of will. I've seen it happen, and together we can make it happen again. We need to build an 'army' of like minded people. If each of us recruits just one member, we'll double the 'boots on the ground'. While that is an obvious principle, it is important enough to drill it home. Through sharing the load with our fellow philosophical travelers, we can turn the tide.

We who espouse the principles laid out by Rand -- and his father -- often possess on the average a natural disinclination against collective action. We can be fiercely independent to a fault. By contrast, the hard left lives for collectivism, and the neocon right seeks dominion - each activities that require joint action, and that reward the dependent mindset. We need to recognize in each of us that we may have to overcome our reticence against shared planning and tasks in order to ‘move the needle on the political temperature’.

It is in this spirit that I ask you to find like-minded individuals, and link them with our efforts. Together, we can spread the word of what Rand’s principles really are, dispelling the hallway-whispers-made-mainstream-news perpetrated by those on both the right and the left. Through numbers and shared messaging, we can dispel the false impressions in the minds of the masses, and garner the votes needed to propel Dr. Rand Paul to the Presidency!
