Run part of Golden Gate Canyon State Park

For Saturday we will be heading to Golden Gate Canyon State Park, entering via Crawford Gulch Road and starting from the Nott Creek Trailhead.

ROUTE
From the Nott Creek Trailhead, we'll be doing a 12-mile route with 3100 ft of gain. The route is a horseshoe shaped route, where we'll be running the outside and then the inside of the horseshoe. Plan for a little under 4 hours.

For a shorter option you can just do the outer loop (about 7 miles) and for a longer option you can add an out/back on the west side of the trail system. There are over 35 miles of trails in this system.

CARPOOL / DIRECTIONS
For anyone wanting to carpool, we'll meet at the South Boulder Park-n-Ride at the intersection of Hwy 93 and Marshall Dr/Eldorado Springs Rd at 7:00a. Please carpool as much as possible. Plan for at least a 45 min drive from Boulder.

For those of you not familiar with this area, it is in Golden Gate Canyon State Park in Jefferson County just west of Golden. Our run will start from the Nott Creek trailhead around 8:00a, which is accessible from Crawford Gulch Rd. To get to this road we will turn west from Hwy 93, just north of Golden on Golden Gate Canyon Rd.

There are two parking lots at the Nott Creek trailhead. If the inner lot is open, we will park there, if not or if it is full, we will park at the outer lot.

If you don't think you'll be able to find the trailhead on your own, please meet us at the South Boulder Park-n-Ride, or make a note in the comments and we can coordinate a meeting in Golden at Hwy 93 and Golden Gate Canyon Rd.

CONSIDERATIONS
Bring some dollars for park entrance/parking ($10/day/car) unless you have a State Park pass.

Dogs are allowed, but must remain leashed.
