Lost Lake via Hessie Trail / 4 to 5 miles and about 850 feet EG

This is a great out-and-back trail near the small town of Eldora west of Nederland with beautiful views and a stunning waterfall. Some parts of the trail are steep and have loose rocks and gravel. We will take a short break at the waterfall and a lunch break once we reach Lost Lake. If the trail conditions allow it, we will hike around the lake before heading back to the trailhead.
Often there is some snow on the trail well into June, so please bring your micro-spikes. Be prepared for weather changes that can happen suddenly in the mountains.

Parking at the trailhead is limited, so we will meet at 9:00 AM at the Park-n-Ride in Nederland and carpool to the trailhead. Please be on time; we will leave no later than 9:10 AM for the trailhead.
