Val Contrin hike and Lunch

Details
This is a challenging hike that goes through Val Contrin, an alpine valley in the Dolomites. We will have lunch at the Rifugio Malga Contrin. They specialize in cheese dishes from the cows that graze in the alpine meadows.
Round trip is about 7.69 mi and 1775 ft elevation gain. Walking time round trip is 3 hours, but expect the day to last 5-6 hours including a stop for lunch.
Bring water, snacks, rain jackets, and layers and good hiking equipment including poles.
The first 3/4 mile gains about 800 ft with an average grade of 19%. We. will traverse 10 or so switchbacks several with grades over 25%. We will eventually reach the valley floor and then a gentle 3 to 6% grade until we reach the last mile mile. Then over the next mile we gain another 700 ft with an average grade of 13% and the steepest inclines of around 20%.
Through out the entire hike, we'll be looking up at majestic peaks that will be snow covered.
Kelly and I will do the hike and post some photos.
