Andrea Gibson was a globally recognized spoken word poet. In their final years, they were the Poet Laureate of Colorado while living with terminal cancer. A nonbinary political activist, Andrea’s attitude of hope and gratitude colored their words and inspired all who knew them. This workshop honors Andrea as a role model and explores their craft: the themes, devices, and impact of their writing.
