Lost Lake Indian Peaks easy backpacking overnight

Details

An hour and a half up and three and a half hours down. Sunday morning we will hike along the mining road and then back on the Devils Thumb Cut-off Trail.
Saturday evening we may be able to hike up to snow and do glissading. Bring an ice ax if you want to practice self-arrests.
Sunday morning we will have an option to go up to Jasper Lake. If you want to do this, bring a small "summit pack", microspikes, and trekking poles. Snowshoes are recommended to Jasper Lake.
I will crosspost this on the Boulder CHAOS meetup.
If the campsites at Lost Lake are taken we will camp where the mining road crosses the north fork of the creek, near the junction with the cut-off trail.
Parking shouldn't be a problem. If you want to carpool, post in the comments. I will leave Boulder at 2pm, I can take three people.
YOU MUST BRING A BEAR PROOF FOOD CONTAINER. Lost Lake has had bear problems in the past due to people leaving food out. Bear spray is recommended.
Be prepared for snow camping and an overnight low in the 30s.
I don't expect everyone to hike together. If you're late you should be able to catch us.
Message me if this will be your first backpacking trip.
During the hike you can reach my satellite messenger at kehoe@inreach.garmin.com. Before the hike you can try my cellphone at (720) 217-6589.
Dogs are allowed but must be on leash due to moose.
