Meet and Greet / Hike for Trips #12 and #13

Details

This is the required, combined Meet & Greet hike for the September 14-17, 2023 and September 28-October 1, 2023, Powwow Trail spring clearing crews #12 and #13, led by Mel Yackley, John Mattson, and Paul Stelter. If you are not part of these clearing crews you are still welcome to attend. If you are curious about BWAC, come and ask some questions.

Location

We will meet at the visitor center to chat and then will head out for a hike around Pike Island. Please prepare to hike 3-4 miles, wearing appropriate footwear, clothing, and bring any water you may need. See you there!

WHAT TO BRING

Bring your full car camping gear or backpack (food optional), 1 liter of water, and at least two questions about what to bring or not bring on trail. We will have a few weeks to tweak our gear after this hike but plan to have most of what you are bringing with you on trail. We will for sure be checking your sleep system, tent, rain gear, and backpack (if applicable). We'll talk about layers, food, cook kits, and other essentials.

WHAT ELSE

It's a Meet & Greet! We will meet each other, go over our trip plan, and hash out carpools and departure details.

Thank you for volunteering. We are excited to be getting out on trail with you.

Fine print: No pets. Kids at your discretion. The hike is about 2-4 miles and we will all stay together for the entire hike.
