About us
Bournemouth and Poole Fun Fit For Life Club
The purpose of this Meetup is to connect with those people who prefer to exercise outdoors and make friends with like minded people. We have a community of healthy active members with a sense of fun and we welcome everybody, no matter their fitness level. Going to the gym can be daunting for some. It is easy to feel as if you are being judged on your body shape and fashion sense, with mirrors and posers all around in abundance. It can also be very insular, with music so loud you can't have a conversation, or people wearing earphones. Even in group classes there is no communication between participants and everybody disappears within 30 seconds of the class finishing. There is also the aspect of working in a forced air environment with everybody's germs and smells being recycled.
We are very different, we get people to work outside in the fresh air, and engage with each other, in pairs or teams, doing exercises, games or races. The sorts of games we play are Touch British Bulldog, Stick in the Mud, skipping with everybody on one long rope, leap frog, wheelbarrow races and piggy-back races. In fact all the games you used to play before the world went health and safety mad. Come and get in back in touch with your inner child.
Fashion is not an issue, come in what is comfortable and suitable for the weather. We do work hard, with activities pitched to each individual’s fitness level, fitter members exercise at a higher intensity, but we are very inclusive. We like smiles on faces, when people are having fun they tend to work harder without realising it, and therefore get better results. The sense of community we engender makes exercising with friends something members want to come to and be part of rather than something they feel they should do.
Your first taster exercise classs is free, thereafter it is £4.00 per session pay as you go, or £3.00 per session if you block book 15 sessions.
We also have extracurricular events, such as mountain bike rides, kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, or a scenic walk. If one of these is your first session it will cost £4.00

The chalet has a secure gated coded gate at the entrance
They have their own on site ski shack on the premises which will save time getting equipment from the ski zone area.
We are looking at a fully catered options which includes Breakfast and a 3 Course Dinner (with 1 night off for the chalet staff during the week – when we would go out for dinner). Bulgarian Wine, Beer and Soft Drinks. This also includes our transfers to and from resort and Ski hire, inc helmet. The chalet offer daily shuttles from the slopes and will collect our ski equipment for us save us going back to the chalet if we go straight to the après ski from the slopes. We would also get discount in some of the bar by the slopes. There is small Sauna and tea and coffee through the stay.

The Oaks, 183 Lymington Road, BH23 5EA, Highcliffe, GBMYSTERY TRAIL
Some members shall be taking part in a mystery run/walk at 1045 on Sunday morning (25 Jan) with the Wessex Hash House Harriers from The Oaks 189 Lymington Rd, Highcliffe, Christchurch BH23 5EA . What3words///exit.loudly.buyers.
All are welcome no matter your fitness level. There is a walking group with children welcome that go about 2.5 - 3.0 miles, and a running group that go a bit further and faster, about 4 - 5.5 miles, although it is stop start as the trail is found. The "hashers" have an irreverent unPC sense of humour similar to mine and are a very friendly bunch. You would be made very welcome. This will not count as a Fun Fit Session
It is described by themselves as the following.
Fashioned after an old fashioned ‘Paper Chase’, it is a fun, fair but non competitive Cross Country run/walk to promote the sport, exercise and offer a social outlet. It’s simple to organise and easy to participate, requiring little besides enthusiasm. Truly democratic, it transcends race, rank and religion. The benefits are fitness, fellowship and fun, and there lie the secrets to its popularity. Its FUN, Enjoy. We run/walk every Sunday at 11am...Check out website www.wessexh3.co.uk
