Sanity

In this lightning talk, Knut is going to demo how fast you can get up and running with a project on Sanity.io, and give an overview of what you can do with “the platform for structured content”.

Knut Melvær (b. 1985) is a graduate in the study of religions who has pivoted into technology. He is currently working as Head of Developer Relations at Sanity.io. Previously he has been a senior technology consultant at Netlife, a reknowned Norwegian UX- and Design Agency. Before that a PhD Fellow at the University of Bergen.

Environmentally friendly software

"Does software impact the environment?" is a question more and more people ask, and the answer is: yes. "Can I, as a programmer, do something about it?" is another one, and the answer is: yes! In this short talk, we'll have a look at how our field contributes to the climate crisis, and at changes we can make in our software to lower our environmental impact.

Marta Paciorkowska used to be a campaign manager/volunteer in a number of Polish non-governmental organizations, but switched careers to IT over six years ago. Before joining Finn.no as an infrastructure developer, she worked as an engineer in German and Polish IT companies.

TwelveMonkeys ImageIO

TwelveMonkeys ImageIO is a collection of robust plug-ins and extensions for Java's ImageIO, that allows reading and writing more image formats. It's widely used by popular open source projects and commercial software.

Harald is a long time Java developer with a strange affection for obscure file formats. He works for Bouvet, and is the author of the TwelveMonkeys ImageIO open source library.
