Desert Roses: Women of Pinal County
A desert rose is a beautiful, hard mineral that rises from within the earth to ‘bloom‘ in a harsh environment. This is a good metaphor for the women who came to Pinal County and rose above their circumstance to affect their communities, preserve the histories, and influence generations to come. This presentation presents both the well-known and the unsung women who left their mark on Pinal County. Featured are pioneers, Native American women, authors, educators, women in the military, entrepreneurs and a few criminal women who left their marks as well.
