Group campsite at Hyalite Lake (# 28)

This is new one day event - It is not the annual Full Moon Paddle (which in August 2024 will launch from the large parking lot by the dam itself.)

This is a regular campsite with fire ring, picnic table ... except this campsite is large: Parking for about 15 vehicles, with a large beach and a super large fire ring with benches.

This is only for paid up members of our group who have signed the liability release in our group website and who, by participating in this event agree to extend that release to include other members of their family. Understand that everyone participates at his / her own risk and agrees to hold harmless the organizers and other participants in this event.

Participants can arrive at 2pm on Sunday August 23 and leave that night or stay the night and be out by noon on Monday.

Maybe sun tan on the beach, paddle your kayak in the afternoon, at dinner time grill something to eat, do a night paddle, go fishing in the morning? ....

Participants just need to sign up in advance and follow all safety rules (life vests, whistle, etc.) and have signed the liability release.

Why this one day event? Following our Full Moon paddle at this site in 2023, a comment was received that overnight camping was a large part of the fun - being able to paddle at 4 AM with full moon and clear skies and barely a breeze.

Therefor this event is a way for members to have a Sunday afternoon of paddling and an evening bbq pot luck gathering with option to camp one night. (By coincidence, there might be a nearly full moon, but you need to look up the time and add 15 min because of the Hyalite ridge.
Parking is limited to about 15 vehicles.

Cost: Steve used his credit card paying $208 to reserve this site. Participant $15 donations to the event would be appreciated.

Volunteers to help organize? As we add events, the burden of organizing everything increases. Darla is the overall camp cook director for our group as well as being on the overall organizer team.
