Lower Madison River Paddle *Tentative Date*

I'm watching the forecast for thunderstorms, would prefer to do this on Saturday so members who have to work during weekdays can join, but Friday is looking much better at this point with cooler/rainy weather on Saturday. Will reevaluate as the week progresses and send update, may switch to Friday.

PLAN: Put in at Black's Ford, paddle to Cobblestone with lunch break at Greycliff fishing access. Approx 4 hours of paddling.

MEET: At Madison River - Black's Ford, or caravan from 4-corners in Bozeman. If coming from Butte or Helena, likely can meet at Cobblestone (10 miles south of Three Forks) and transport your boat to the put-in so you don't have to backtrack after the paddle.

(Note: Cobblestone fishing access does not have a boat ramp and it's a ways to the parking lot, so we will have to portage our boats. But it's worth the effort, since the stretch between Greycliff and Cobblestone is a little faster moving and quite scenic)

Be prepared for some wind on this stretch, and rain always is possible.

A couple of us may try to camp on the river Friday night if we can get spots, with a stop at Norris for dinner, soak and live music, a fun tradition of ours after or night before the paddle:)
