What we’re about
Brainard’s Circle for Stroke Survivors is a warm, welcoming community for people rebuilding life after stroke — and for the people who walk beside them.
Founded by Carol E. Yorke, stroke survivor, author, and proud one-armed wonder, the Circle is inspired by her cheerful cartoon companion Brainard — the brain with a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. Together, they remind members that recovery isn’t just about regaining what was lost — it’s about discovering new ways to live, laugh, and thrive.
Each meeting blends connection, learning, and laughter. Survivors and caregivers share experiences, celebrate small victories, and support one another through the challenges of stroke recovery.
Whether you’re on your own healing journey or caring for someone who is, you’ll find encouragement, belonging, and a spark of joy in Brainard’s Circle — where we move together from surviving to thriving.
