Full-Service Ownership and Lifecycle of a Service

Speaker: Julie Gunderson - DevOps Advocate at PagerDuty

High performing software development teams are focused on customers and on taking greater ownership of their production stack. The tricky part is teaching these teams how to tackle the operational challenges that come with full-service ownership. In this talk, we will discuss how to implement a model where development teams are both empowered to own their full-stack production deployments and equipped to manage common software lifecycle operational issues like reducing alert fatigue and learning from failures.

Julie Gunderson is a DevOps Advocate at PagerDuty, where she works to further the adoption of DevOps best practices and methodologies. She has been actively involved in the DevOps space for over five years and is passionate about helping individuals, teams and organizations understand how to leverage DevOps and develop amazing cultures. Julie has delivered talks at conferences such as DevOpsDays, Velocity, Agile Conf, OSCON and more. Julie is also a founding member and co-organizer of DevOpsDays Boise, as well as a co-organizer of DeliveryConf.
In her off time Julie can be found either traipsing through the mountains in Idaho, or making circuit boards into wearable art.
