Film Screening with Director, Donghoon Seo

Details
Join us for an evening with Film Director and Actor, Donghoon Seo, where he will be screening his two short films ‘In The Name Of The Father’ and ‘Scratch’ followed by a discussion about his work in South Korea’s film industry.
About the films:
This is Donghoon Seo’s award winning short film (2019 Seoul International Senior Film Festival). It highlights the repetitive lives of family generations, portraying ideological and political conflicts between a father and son. The story follows Youngjo’s financial struggles as a Poet and his relationship with his father who has not enough money to support himself. The film questions society about what is important in these repetitive lives.
Scratch was invited to be screened at Japan Yubari Film Festival in 2018. The film talks about scratches as a metaphor, whether it’s a scratch on your car’s bumper or on your career, the film asks is a scratch always completely removable? The two main characters in the short film are in a boss-subordinate relationship, they suddenly encounter a small car accident, which shows how much one's absolute power over the other one can affect a situation and the repairing of the scratches. The film aims to provoke people to think about how different levels of power can be used and measured.
The films will be screened in Korean with English subtitles. The event is free to attend but we ask everyone to purchase a drink from the venue.
There is limited seating so please register to save yourself a seat!
