Shaping the Future of Quality while making Software Engineers’ Lives easier

Details

Passionate about software engineering? Curious to discover best practices and useful insights about automated testing?

Join us on 22nd of September to discover more about Shaping the Future of Quality while making Software Engineers’ Lives easier. We invite you to take part in our meet-up, organized in partnership with our colleagues from Nagarro, onsite in Cluj, where we will explore different approaches to testing from our experienced specialists. For face to face interaction, please join the event hosted by our partners.

Talk 1: Play Smart with backend (Dan Rusu & Codruta Avram, NAGARRO)
Testing is an essential part of product development, especially to guarantee quality and to deliver a strong product. It matters how we run these tests as the overall product robustness could be significantly affected.
Let’s discuss about how using Postman in automating your backend testing process can increase the overall software development efficiency and allow for more robust tools to be built.
Join us for a hands-on automation testing example using Postman and see how it can make a software developer life easier!
Speakers:

  • Dan Rusu is a Test automation enthusiast, partisan of practice-based learning and he considers himself addicted to tech blogs.
  • Codruta Avram is a QA engineer passionate about automation and JavaScript. She is motivated by self-improvement, and she like to experiment with new tools.

Talk 2: Specification by Example – (Catalin Ristache & Flaviu Boldea, WATERS)
Test-driven development (TDD) and its variants, such as acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) shorten the development cycle. Behavior-driven development (BDD) emphasizes requirements. Specification by example (SBE) compels dev teams to understand the requirements using examples and tests.
Let's discuss about this collaborative approach to defining requirements and business-oriented tests based on capturing realistic examples instead of abstract statements. We will share from our experience, our journey, starting from Gojko Adzic' theory and ending with Visual Studio, SpecFlow & LivingDoc that allow developers to put theory in practice easily, in collaboration with the PO.
Join us to see how SBE can be used to make software developers life easier!
Speakers:

  • Catalin Ristache has over 20 years of experience in various areas related to software development. He is interested in anything related to technology and modern management.
  • Flaviu Boldea is an experienced software craftsman passionate about clean code, code that is easy to read, change and maintain. Testability is one of the most important characteristics of the clean code, that's why Flaviu invests time in writing automated tests, test-first methodologies and improving skills on this area
