Ignite the Joy of Improv with Our Therapeutic Improv Initiative! Join us at the Brave Women's Community Center for this joy filled offering. A fun and gentle workshop that introduces the healing power of therapeutic improv. No need to worry about performance anxiety or being "good enough"—our approach is all about healing and personal growth, not performance.
Led by a licensed psychotherapist! Bring a friend for FREE!
Why This Workshop Is Different:
1. It’s Not About Being Funny: Forget about "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"—our improv is about the process, not the punchline.
2. No Experience Needed: Feelings like "I’m not creative enough" or "I can’t do improv" are common, but our workshop is designed so that you absolutely cannot do it wrong.
3. Healing Through Play: Led by Lucia Severtson, founder of The Brave Women's Transformation Project and a licensed psychotherapist, this workshop uses drama therapy to foster personal and community healing What To Expect:
First Hour: Engage in light-hearted drama games that encourage interpersonal communication and personal inquiry. These activities are designed to be fun, easy, and primarily, they help release tension and mental chatter.
Second Hour: Dive deeper as you participate in a writing prompt followed by improvising monologues. This allows for a profound level of sharing and connection, letting you be seen and heard in a supportive environment.
Workshop Benefits:
1. Build Confidence and Connections: Develop self-confidence and improve interpersonal communication in a community that supports deeper connections.
2. Safe and Supportive: Our group leaders create a nurturing space where you can explore and challenge limiting beliefs in a non-judgmental setting.
3. Authentic Self-Expression: Through improvisation and monologues, share your thoughts and feelings, fostering a sense of being understood and valued. Join Us for a Transformative Experience: Whether you believe you're "too boring," "not witty enough," or simply "not brave enough," this workshop is for you. Embrace the opportunity to play, laugh, and grow in a setting where everyone is welcome, and every contribution is valued.
