Do you sometimes miss having a really good conversation?

Breda and Brabant have a strong culture of gezelligheid: being sociable, having fun, sharing a drink and enjoying each other's company. That's something to appreciate.

But for some people — including people who have moved to Brabant from elsewhere — it can be surprisingly difficult to find conversations that go beyond everyday small talk.

This Meetup group is for people who would like more depth.

Conversations where we are genuinely interested in what other people think. Where we can talk about science, society, culture, psychology, philosophy, technology, books, our experiences, or simply the questions that occupy us.

There is no prescribed subject and there doesn't always have to be a serious purpose. Humour is very welcome. The important thing is that good conversation itself is the reason for meeting.

We will often combine our conversations with dinner at a restaurant in or around Breda. A small group around a table, good food, plenty of time, and interesting people can be an excellent setting for a real conversation.

The group is open to people from Breda and the surrounding region, whether you were born in Brabant or arrived here from somewhere else.

You don't need a particular educational background, profession or worldview. Curiosity, openness and an interest in other people matter much more.

Less small talk. More real conversation.

And preferably over a good dinner.
