Lightning talks are a series of community-inspired and community-led mini talks. Lightning talks can be about projects, ideas or anything else UX related that you want to talk about. Each lightning speaker has up to 10 minutes to show off what they've got.

Hear Mike Rohde, author of The Sketchnote Handbook and The Sketchnote Workbook, share the story of sketchnotes. From Mike's solution to the burden of taking boring notes by pioneering the idea and name "sketchnotes" — to their impact today in design, business, education, and more.
Mike Rohde is the author of two bestselling books: The Sketchnote Handbook (2012) and The Sketchnote Workbook (2014). He presents workshops around the world that encourage people to use visual thinking skills to generate, capture and share ideas more effectively.
Mike is the illustrator of bestselling books REWORK, REMOTE, The $100 Startup, and The Little Book of Talent. He has been commissioned to create live sketchnotes for conferences and events, including SXSW Interactive, An Event Apart, Summit Series, World Domination Summit, and The Storyline Conference.
Mike is a veteran designer who creates usable, compelling design solutions for software and web applications. He lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife and 3 children.
John Ramos is the creator of WebDev For You - a website dedicated to educating users about web design and development via a program called Webflow. On his website John offers unique custom-built interactions, advanced tutorials, and plug-ins via external scripts.
In his 10 minute lightning round John will give a brief introduction to Webflow, and why he thinks it is the future of web design and development. He will talk about all the major features of Webflow including: Content Management System, eCommerce, Interactions, CSS Grids, and Flexbox.
Kate Revitte is a User Experience Consultant at Centare who specializes in helping businesses consciously design processes and tools to support growth.
She will be discussing activities that enable teams to build empathy for users, quickly iterate collaboratively, and align on the value of a design.
