The Names & Kin

Summer's here and our next edition of Brews & Bestsellers will be covering two heartwarming novels to match the rapidly heating weather: The Names by Florence Knapp (debut novel) & Kin by Tayari Jones (released earlier this year).

Both books touch on themes of identity and family, including all the different iterations of each. These books also have sensitive content, so read at your own discretion. Hopefully we can have an interesting discussion on these personal topics and come away with a better understanding of the ways in which each of us navigate different kinds of relationships, the easy and tough ones, including our blood family, chosen family, those tied to us by name, and those tied to us by chance and fate.
