🗣 Talks
➡️ Nils Munch – Game literacy in children, and how to approach it as a developer. Behind the scenes of LEGO Arcade.

➡️ Jon Lauridsen – Why measure software delivery? - Why it matters & what it means
An introduction to the benefits of measuring software delivery and how to measure it. We will cover the commonly used metrics, how they connect to Lean principles, and explore how they can help achieve positive business outcomes. Jon's team, the Order Orchestrator team/ Team Starfire is responsible for managing the entire process of orders from all sales channels. Their goal is to process orders efficiently and accurately, while helping the business manage its inventory and other key operational aspects. Their name comes from LEGO 6820 Starfire set.

➡️ Fred K. Schott - What's new in Astro?
Astro is growing fast! Join Fred for a deep-dive into some exciting new features from Astro's 2.0 release and a behind-the-scenes look at what comes next for the framework.

➡️ Ben Holmes - Opt-in design - the new era of web frameworks
When it comes to web tooling, good defaults are essential. It's a fact that every tool from JQuery to NextJS has needed to face. At their worst, a bad default ships hundreds of wasted JS kilobytes for routing, state, and other baggage developers may never use. But at their best, defaults give us a simple baseline to start from, with a clear path to add the exact set of features our project demands. **This is the magic of opt-in design.** Let's see how smart defaults guide modern frontend tools from Astro to React Server Components, and why this new era reshapes your workflow, and website performance metrics, for the better.

➡️ Live Q&A with members of the Astro core team
Panel: Fred Schott, Ben Holmes, Matthew Philips, Nate Moore, Sarah Rainsberger

Astro's core beliefs are that it should be easier to build fast websites than slow ones, it should be easier to build with code than without it, and it should be easy to build a great website, period. Astro version 2.1 just shipped, and at this talk, we will hear more about the free, open source project with an active, supportive, and wildly entertaining community around it.

Just imagine learning about the exciting things Astro and the LEGO Group are working on while making new engineering friends. Food and drinks provided (note all drinks are alcohol-free and veggie options are provided).

Please enter your full name when you RSVP - we need it for building security! If you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP prior to the day so others don't miss out on the event.

* Please note – the meetup will be live streamed. This meetup is focused on Software engineering - rather than talking about the LEGO Group in general :-) *
