Let’s Talk – Spiritual Conversations on Race Unity

Details
Please join us on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. for the next evening of our ongoing dialog on the spiritual aspects of race, diversity and inclusion entitled, Let’s Talk – Spiritual Conversations on Race Unity sponsored by the Bahá'ís of Everett.
This month’s topic is “Allegories on Race and Racism” a TedTalk by Dr. Camara Jones. Dr. Jones shares four allegories on “race” and racism. She hopes that these stories empower you to do something different, and that you will remember them and pass them on. Dr. Jones is a family physician and epidemiologist whose work focuses on the impacts of racism on the health and well-being of the nation.

“God,” ‘Abdu’l‑Bahá Himself declares, “maketh no distinction between the white and the black. If the hearts are pure both are acceptable unto Him. God is no respecter of persons on account of either color or race. All colors are acceptable unto Him, be they white, black, or yellow. Inasmuch as all were created in the image of God, we must bring ourselves to realize that all embody divine possibilities.” - The Advent of Divine Justice by Shoghi Effendi
Our goal is to further our collective understanding around these complex social issues; to guide us to positive action; and toward the achievement of real, lasting change. The evening's program begins with a brief inspirational and devotional.
