Email has decreased the use of fysical postal services and increased how much we communicate online.
Cars have replaced horses and increased how much we travel, self-driving cars are even 'threatening' our role as a necessary driver.
Mobile phones have not replaced face-to-face contact, but opened up new ways, moments and distances over which we communication.
Then why are so many people sceptical about a fast-, peer-to-peer form of digital money? The 'Internet of Value' is going to happen, sooner or later.
Blockchain technology is the lastest of 'new tech' looking for its use-case in the world. Perhaps Bitcoin will not deliver what many believed earlier this year during a massive hype, but cryptocurrencies are not the only application for blockchain! Financial investment aside, you should invest time and energy into learning about it's fundamentals in order to co-exist and collaborate with future tech!
What is a blockchain really? How does it work when you need to trace goods to their origin in seconds? Are there any applications of blockchains in the Netherlands? How can society benefit from blockchain? In economics, in healthcare, in education? Can i actually buy anything with bitcoin?
So...
