Gentle walk, 3 miles, then lunch option before Petanque championships

Details
An easy walk of approx 3 miles, then time for lunch at Roman Crown before Ray's Petanque championships.
We will visit the roman villa site, take a photo opportunity with our world-famous pedigree herd of concrete cows, then onto the site of medieval Bradwell Abbey. The gardens exhibit sculptures by Schottlander, which are of international importance. Schottlander had an interesting life. Here's a link to find out more if interested. https://www.patrickcomerford.com/2023/08/sculpture-is-art-of-silence-works-at.html?m=1
Passing Bradwell's Norman church and Motte castle, we will return to The Roman Crown where the cafe is open for lunch and drinks.
The Roman Crown is a friendly pub that is leased and run by the local community.
This is a mainly flat walk on wide paths and bridleways. There will be plenty of stops at points of interest with time to look around.
Dogs: Dogs (leashed) only allowed if you check with the walk leader, Janet, beforehand, please.
In the afternoon, Ray is holding a Petanque event nearby, in which you may participate or watch.
Walk leader is Janet Croston. Phone number for any last minute emergencies: Janet 07981 550082
Parking: Public Car park alongside The Roman Crown, 1 Constantine Way, Bancroft Park, MK13 0RA
