Eutopia or Dystopia

Hosted By
Matt T. and Tuli F.

Details
Utopia represents an idealistic, perfect vision, whereas Eutopia embodies a more pragmatic, achievable approach to creating a good society. Eutopia - a place in which human society, natural conditions, etc., are so ideally perfect that there is absolute contentment, inclusion and harmony.
We are going to debate two issues that will deeply affect our community as AI becomes ubiquitous:
- The Emergent Workforce and The Future of Jobs
- Matthew will lead a debate about how AI is impacting the jobs market right now, what tasks are likely to be automated and which sectors are going to be most affected in the years to come.
- And of course, we discuss what happens to all the staff whose jobs are affected?
- The Environment and Sustainability
- Many corporates have committed to reduce or eradicate carbon from their operations and supply chains, yet the same organisations are now under pressure to adopt AI to create efficiency gains. This causes an obvious conflict because AI is an energy intensive technology.
- Matthew will provide an insight of the available evidence about AI’s (un)eco creds and what that could mean for UK corporates.
Our lead panellist for the event is Matthew Holman, Tech, Data & AI Partner at Cripps LLP, one of the first UK law firms to receive B Corp™ certification.
Matthew's areas of expertise:
- Advising on the development and deployment of AI in business-critical systems
- Planning and delivering legal projects for the development of emerging software and technology solutions.
We invite our meetup group members to sit on the panel with Matthew to offer supporting or contrary opinions and a perspective from our community.
