Hanover and Queen's Park ramble

Details

We'll head from Brighton station to the bottom of Elm Grove to see the alms houses built for the poor of the 18th century then we’ll visit houses built for the rich of the Regency period before visiting the, now, middle-class neighbourhood of Hanover.

We'll traverse the hills and streets of Hanover passing some of the key Victorian era institutions which were essential to the development of the area.

If there's time and energy after Hanover we'll visit Queen's Park and see some early 19th century buildings and we’ll finish with a visit to a hidden Victorian observation tower and some great views over the city.

The ramble will end down the hill near St Peter's church. We'll set off at 11:00 so make sure you're here before then.

Terrain: It’s Hanover so expect steep hills.
Toilets: At Brighton station

If you'd like to help me pay the Meetup charges, I'll happily accept a two-pound donation at the end. Lots of people don't carry cash now so I do have an electronic solution subject to mobile phone signal!

MEET: Meet at the front of Brighton station near the Travel Centre and toilets. Look for the chap in the blue and white baseball cap with a blue B on the front.
