Moving ahead with sustainable living in Brighton on Wednesday 11th October
Details
Moving ahead with sustainable living in Brighton on Wednesday 11th October. Doors open 7:15, discussion starts at 8:00pm.
There is increasing interest in living more sustainably and reducing our impact on the planet. The costs of solar hot water, photovoltaics, heat pumps and electric vehicles are coming down. Climate change is causing many of us to think about reducing our carbon footprint through growing more food locally through urban farms, vertical agriculture and community growing spaces.
This event will be rather different from our usual Cafe Scientifique talks. We will hear short contributions from members who have experience of using these technologies and approaches, and then we will open the floor to audience contributions. So, whether you feel you have useful experiences to add to the discussion or simply want to learn more, please come along and join in. Please let us know in advance if you want to show any photos or videos.
One outcome may be that we will establish a Sustainable Living Group in the area, a spin-off from Cafe Scientifique. This would be a group for sharing experiences and for providing mutual support for those who want to take things further.
