Networking, the marmite of the IT world; people do truly love it or hate it. Luckily Jack Tracey, our speaker this month, is on the ๐Ÿ’™ love it ๐Ÿ’™ side of the table.

Moving to the โ›… cloud โ›… doesn't mean networking goes away - in fact it becomes even more important as it's how everyone uses, accesses, and consumes the services and applications you host within the cloud.

In this session Jack will cover ๐ŸŒ Azure Networking 101 ๐ŸŒ to help you understand Microsoft Azure's global network and the various services and constructs you can use to start understanding and using Azure today to host your applications and services.

If you ever wondered what is a VNet, Peering, Private Endpoint/Link, Virtual WAN, NSG, ASG, PPG, ExpressRoute etc. then this is the session for you! If you have no idea what any of those things are, this session is definitely for you!

Jack is a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect at Microsoft with 12 years in the industry, and co-hosts the Sussex Azure User Group event which also meets every 2 months in at The Skiff Brighton.

Our friends at Silicon Brighton will again be providing the AV and streaming live on YouTube, whilst our amazing hosts at MPB provide delicious snacks and refreshments while we chat before and after the event. If you haven't already, you should sign up to Silicon Brighton's Slack workspace for networking and news on other tech related events in Brighton (we're all on there).

Our Event Format is Hybrid:

  • You can join us in-person: 6:00pm @ opposite the main MPB office on Ship Street (see location details and photos below)
  • Or you can join us online: 6:30pm, streaming live on YouTube.

Please only indicate your attendance on Meetup if you'll be attending in person - this helps us massively with planning the refreshments we'll need to provide.
