Welcome to the virtual brighton data forum!

Following on from our last meeting, we now delve deeper into the world of computer vision technologies. Romain Beaugrand, a senior software engineer at MPB is joining us to share what he has learned about the topic:

How does computer vision work? For that matter, how does human vision work? How do we process light beyond the retina as information to form images? What kinds of technology will power the automated future of labour?

In this introduction, we'll look at the surprisingly simple calculations that underpin some visual perception algorithms. We'll also discuss how neural networks can break down the world of pixels into one of moving vector shapes, perhaps modelling the way we humans see.

The Brighton data forum is a socialising, networking, and skill-sharing community, bringing together local data professionals and organisations doing great work with data. We cover all topics of the data professions. our events offer a blend of (semi) formal presentations, friendly chatter, and networking opportunities.

This meeting will be conducted remotely via zoom.us.

Also, if you are interested in presenting to the forum, please email skarinn@yahoo.com.
