Cutlasses
Cutlasses is the solo project of Scott Pitkethly. Combining field recordings and found sounds with heavily manipulated guitar and synths, Cutlasses takes it’s inspiration from the textures and timbres of sound art and horror film soundtracks. As well as making music, Scott is also an avid maker of DIY electronic instruments and effects. Having made his own midi controllers and noise boxes, his most recent project is the AudioFreeze. A eurorack modular synth module, which freezes tiny sections of sounds and allows you to manipulate them. He will be talking about the design and construction of AudioFreeze, as well as demonstrating it live.
Gear: MacBook Pro with Ableton and Guitar Rig. Self-made MIDI pedal. Fender Telecaster. Native Instruments Komplete audio interface.
