How ethical digital marketers do their work

Details

Welcome to our second event

In this Meet-Up, we'll explore what ethical digital marketing professionals do in their work. From working responsibly with data to aligning digital campaigns with a client's values.

Our speakers for this event include ethical marketing author Simon Batchelar, and data ethics facilitator and social media expert, Coeli Uy.

18:00-18.30: Networking
18.30-19.30: Three talks and a panel discussion
19:30-20:00: Drinks at SPACES Brighton.

This month's talks

  • Reframing marketing to be more ethical, and effective - Simon Batchelar. Simon will outline the 3-step plan featured in his recent book. It's a simple-to-adopt approach for effective and ethical marketing - whether you're working in a big in-house team or are starting your first business.
  • How to use generative AI ethically and legally - Simon Bullmore, Agency founder. ChatGPT can be a great tool for marketers, but you need to think carefully about both the positive outcomes you want to achieve and the negative ones you'll have to avoid. In this talk, r Simon will share the outcomes of his recent research into generative AI and a simple technique anyone can use to avoid ethical issues when using new tools.
  • Achieving Ikigai in the workplace: How to find your purpose in the marketing world - Coeli Uy, Data ethics facilitator. In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing marketing world, staying motivated to achieve success can be difficult. But what if there was a way to help you find your purpose and drive in your work? Enter Ikigai, a Japanese concept that translates to “a reason for being.” Connecting ikigai and marketing together, Coeli will explain how you can uncover your ikigai and use it to benefit your career and your organisation.
