"Making assets fly and images a breeze with Image CDNs" - Alistair Shepherd
Tonight we will be having a presentation from Alistair Shepherd who has kindly agreed to do a talk on how to design and build performant image solutions for websites using Image CDNs.
Talk summary:
Images and photos can be a major performance hit on websites and can be tricky to implement right.
This talk introduces some of the challenges with images on the web, including delivering multiple formats, responsive images, different screen densities and complicated image pipelines.
Image CDNs are services that make managing images and assets significantly easier and takes the burden of optimisation and processing off your hands.
We'll go over what an Image CDN is and how we can use them to help us improve performance and the developer experience of working with images.
