Mafia Games & Social - Beginner Friendly - Brighton Central Community Base

Hi guys, Wednesday the 13th of May from 6:30pm we play some Mafia games and socialise at Community Base, free to join, no previous experience needed!

## Community Base, South Wing, 113 Queens Rd, Brighton BN1 3XG. Third Floor. Dial 1333 or 1222 at the door intercom.

• What is Mafia?
  Mafia is a fun social deduction game and the inspiration for the TV show The Traitors.
  Each player gets a secret role and works with their team to win. A game lasts around 40 minutes, and we play many rounds when we meet.
  Mafia try to eliminate the Citizens and Citizens try to work out who the Mafia are. No prior experience needed, we will explain everything when we meet.

## Beginner-friendly

This event is designed for people who are completely new to the game. Everything is explained clearly at the start, and experienced players help guide new players through their first games.
No prior knowledge or experience is needed. Just come along and give it a go!

## How does the game work?

Each game has two phases.
Day - Players discuss who they think might be Mafia, then vote to eliminate one person.
Night - The Mafia secretly eliminate a Citizen.
There are also two special roles.
The Don (Mafia) and the Sheriff (Citizen) add strategy, but you do not need to memorise the rules. Most people learn very quickly by playing.
The game continues until either all Mafia are eliminated or the Mafia equal or outnumber the Citizens.

• There is even an international ranking system, similar to chess or tennis

We run regular beginner events, tournaments, and online games, and occasionally travel abroad to play with other Mafia clubs.
Whether you enjoy hidden role games or are just curious to try something new, you are very welcome to join us. Many strong players started with no prior experience.
