A Photo and a Story: Travel Beyond the Frame

Bring one photo from your travels and tell us the story behind it.

Some travel photos need a little explaining. What looks like an ordinary street might remind you of a fascinating conversation. A beautiful view might bring back memories of everything that went wrong getting there. And sometimes, a photograph captures the moment you learned something that changed how you saw a place.

So, whip out that photo and talk about it here.

It could be something you felt, something you learned, something you saw, or just something interesting that happened while you were there. The story does not even have to be visible in the photograph. It can be whatever the photograph reminds you of.

What will we do?

We will take turns sharing our photos and stories, with room for questions and conversation. Afterwards, there will be time to mingle, get to know the other participants and continue the conversations that caught your interest.

The focus is on personal experiences rather than travel tips, tricks or itineraries. But if someone’s story leaves you wanting to plan a trip, you can certainly swap recommendations afterwards!

What should you bring?
One travel photo and the story you would like to share. You do not need a professional photograph, an extraordinary adventure or a polished presentation. A memory from a nearby town is just as welcome as one from halfway around the world. You can bring the photo on your phone or a printed copy.

Where are we meeting?

At Zetesis Reading Room, a reading room for travellers in North Bangalore. Together with Zetesis Journeys, we bring people together around curiosity about places, their histories, cultures and stories, and the books that help us explore them.

If you enjoy hearing how other people experience the world, come spend an afternoon with us. You might find a new perspective, somewhere you want to visit, or people you would like to keep talking to.
