YOUR CONRIBUTION TO MEETINGS IS VALUABLE TO OTHERS
English language teachers and student teachers, this is a good opportunity to discuss culture and teaching conditions in other countries. Students learn in a relaxed, fun environment and gain connections for professional life. Migrants of all ages, get some ideas about employment in Australia. Cultural exchange in a friendly environment is an important part of every meeting.
Please read our Code of Conduct under the Pages tag. We strive to provide members with secure meeting environments. For your security it is recommended that you do not give your contact info to people until you are confident you know and trust them.
We provide meetings and events that help people improve their English language skills in a secure, social environment and explore and discuss cultural values that facilitate people working and living together - a step towards international understanding, cooperation and peace.
Since 2009, more than 2000 people have become members and many others are connected through affiliated groups. Members include people of most nationalities, religions and cultures. Brisbane ESL promotes inclusiveness, understanding, and constructive dialogue.

All levels of English are welcome. Conversation practice - English learning - social and business networking - cultural exchange - discuss your issues with local and overseas friends. Everyone has the opportunity to have conversations in English with members and guests. Join a discussion. Move among the groups to meet new members and guests, enjoy the conversations, and ask any question.

Develop confidence in communicating - develop a strong vocabulary.
Guided learning to improve results in study, IELTS, employment and social life. We use Toastmasters activity and past IELTS tests for Speaking.
Guest speakers from members and the Brisbane community.
This is a very supportive group environment that gives each member individual assistance to improve Speaking Listening and Writing. At any meeting we practice what the members want that day. Members say that the Thursday 'Speaking Listening Writing Group' has helped them improve their IELTS scores, job interview skills, communication at work and study, and public speaking/seminar skills. The meetings are informal - a relaxed and entertaining social evening. Everyone participates.

2500 most commonly used english words are set out in groups.
Be kind to yourself. Don't try to learn too much too soon. It is better to practice all week the words in one paragraph than to try to learn all words quickly. If you can use daily the words you learn, you will forget less - learn faster.

The group organises events where English speakers and ESL people meet to practice English language skills in a relaxed social environment. Whether you are a student, need better English for your employment, would like to assist ESL people, or would like to extend your social contacts, join us for chat with new friends and participate in one of our scheduled events. We all learn faster when we are enjoying ourselves.
Picnics/BBQs at parks and gardens
This group attracts people who want to practice English language through friendly social events with local people, and visitors who have English as their first language, and enjoy friendship with people from many cultures.
