Chief Data & Insights Officer, UNSW

Kate Carruthers is Chief Data & Insights Officer for UNSW Sydney, and is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science & Engineering. She is a Certified Information Security Manager and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in cybersecurity. Kate has extensive experience in senior roles in ICT, marketing, data and digital; and is a member of the NSW Government’s Data Analytics Centre Advisory Board. Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan , Dell Technologies

Danny Elmarji is a passionate technology advocate across Dell Technologies Asia Pacific and Japan. He is responsible for running the Dell Technologies engineering community, focused on helping customers transform IT by embracing modern technologies and practices to enable new experiences.

Danny joined EMC in 2005 and from his original background in application development, he has further built extensive technical knowledge around Hybrid Cloud Computing, Cloud Native Application architectures, DevOps and Data science practices. Over the past 20 years, he has received numerous industry certifications across virtualisation and infrastructure solutions, as well as providing direct involvement in how technologies are being built and used in customers’ business transformation.

Danny is an executive sponsor and active member of the Dell Technologies PRIDE and Women in Action Employee Resource Groups and is leading specific initiatives tied to Dell Technologies’ Progress Made Real 2030 goals.

Danny is originally from Ottawa, Canada and holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Computing.

Dr Denis Bauer,

Head of Cloud Computing Bioinformatics, CSIRO

Dr Denis Bauer is CSIRO’s Principal Research Scientist in transformational bioinformatics and an internationally recognised expert in machine learning and cloud-based genomics. She keynoted the International Bioinformatics Conference Jakarta ‘19, AWS Summit 2019, Open Data Science India ‘18. Her achievements include developing open-source machine-learning bioinformatics software used by 10,000 researchers annually and contributing to Australia’s COVID-19 response
