What we’re about
Welcome to the Brisbane Classical and Chamber Music Meetup Group, dedicated to connecting classical music enthusiasts in Brisbane. Our focus is smaller concerts at venues around the city, supporting local artists and meeting people who love music. We will generally meet after a concert and go to a cafe or restaurant to socialise. Join us to discover new artists, expand your musical knowledge, and meet people.

Tickets: A Program of Firsts - QTIXMendelssohn Trio in C minor for violin, viola, piano (1820)
Gade Piano Trio in Bb for violin, cello, piano (1839)
Schumann Piano Quintet in Eb Op.44 (1842)Pianist Peter Roennfeldt is joined by violinists Margaret Connolly and Wayne Brennan, violist Nicholas Tomkin and cellist Daniel Curro for another special ensemble program.
The historic Streicher piano (1843) is the ideal medium for romantic era repertoire for piano and strings. Each piece is a ‘first’, either as the composer’s debut in chamber music – trios by Mendelssohn and Gade, or as a precedent in creating a new instrumental combination – the Piano Quintet by Schumann.
This is a rare chance to hear a well-known masterwork and two rarities, all featuring the richly luminous sound of the Streicher piano.
