TITLE: "Doing Viz For Social Good - First Datathon in Australia"
In March 2020, close to 40 Brisbane data enthusiasts got together to help 'Sunny Street' make a bit more sense of their data. This was the very first Viz For Social Good Datathon event in Australia, we made history! For this datathon, we saw presentations from 15 data volunteers showcasing a range of bus intelligence tech (Tableau, PowerBi...), as well as very interesting presentations from Jason bringing his data engineering & data science background w/ some of Oracle’s data platform. This webinar will retell the events of Viz For Social Good & Jason will elaborate more about the tech behind doing viz for social good.
Viz for Social Good helps mission-driven orgs to promote social good & understand their own data through beautiful & informative data visualisation.
Sunny Street is changing the world by providing healthcare to our community’s most vulnerable people, including homeless people.

SPEAKER: Jason Lowe - Solution Engineer, Oracle
Jason Lowe has a day job of working as a Solution Engineer from Oracle with a focus on Cloud, Data and Analytics. From a community perspective, he is one of the co-founders of Hacking Health Queensland - a local chapter focused on improving healthcare for all - connecting stakeholders, innovation and entrepreneurship - within corporates, startups and universities.

TITLE: "Data Science made easy and accessible"
Data Engineering & Data Science Teams spend lots of time in feat engineering & building models that are expected to provide results in return to the organization. Organizations are encouraging Citizen Data Scientists to contribute to their area of work using Data Science as a day to day toolkit.
However, that is not what reality is. Most of the work dies in Dev due to 3 main factors

1. Lack of accelerators/quick starters to help citizen data scientists
2. Lack of Evaluation Toolkits
3. Lack of Trust – “Not be able to explain the reason for an outcome”
   Oracle’s recent OCI Data Science tries to address these gaps with the homegrown “Accelerated Data Science” (ADS) SDK. This webinar will address the use of ADS SDK to help organizations increase the “Promote to Prod” KPI and reduce “Death in Dev” KPI
