What we’re about

We are two good friends and Health Practitioners who started The Brisbane & Beyond Non-Violent Communication Practice Group after running our first retreat together in 2020.

Our conversations around our shared interests led to our weekly livestreams to Facebook LIVE@5 (a kind of paper-trail of some of our ideas).

We've found the dyad offers an eloquent design, which, for the language-lovers and scientists-of-us, meets our passion for a damn fine learning and connecting experience.

The Recipe for a 60-minute Dyad goes something like this.....

A dyad is a mutual and purposeful dialogue between two people.

To practice a dyad:

1. Listen with your whole organism.
2. Speak for your whole organism.
3. When listening, less is more. Literally.
4. When speaking, less is more. Literally.

Here's what you'll need:

A willing dyad partner
A timer
An undisturbed space

Together, agree on:

a) The total length of time (allowing equal time)
b) the quality that's fresh for you both eg trust, connection, play, power, freedom,

Here's how it looks:

Attune to yourself for a couple of minutes (follow your breath or notice your body)
Attune to your partner for a couple of minutes (follow each other's breath)

Ask your partner about a quality you'd like to explore. You might ask, how does this thing live in you?....

Then be quiet and open while they respond.

When you're responding, you might not feel like saying anything....

or you might feel like saying a lot.

The timer will let you know when it's time to swap.

We meet the last Sunday morning of every month at The Taringa Rovers Clubhouse 9:30-11:30am.

If you like the experience and you're a good fit for the group, you'll be offered a link to a paid membership.
