Urban Xtreme Ski Slope

Details
Each week we ski at the Urban-Xtreme indoor slope. This is a great way to work on & improve technique, even if you are an advanced skier or boarder.
This is better coaching than on the snow, for these reasons:
- You have an instructor providing feedback
- There's a mirror at the bottom of the slope which instantly shows you what your technique looks like.
- You concentrate solely on your technique - no distractions such as other people or bumps.
Even World Cup skiers & boarders practice this way overseas.
In addition, a session is a solid fitness workout. You typically ride in 3 x 10 mins slots during the hour. It might not sound like much, but a 10 min stint involves continual turning & angulation. Compare that to say a hectic 5 min run down a slope (where you often just go straight to ease the leg burn).
By the way, if you do sign up to an event and need to cancel, please provide 24hrs notice to Urban-Xtreme on: 1300 [URBANX] 872269. There is a risk they will charge you for a no-show if you wait till the last-minute to cancel.
COST
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
If a first-timer, let Urban Xtreme know you're with this Meetup, and they should only charge you $25 (they're currently giving our new members a 50% discount on slope price)
You can also get $30 per session by buying a 24 pass membership at around $720 (24 x $30 = $720).
There are also multi-tickets for 3, 6 and 10 sessions (which work out at $45, $40 and $37.5).
Otherwise, if you go in for a one-off, the normal cost for adults is $50/hr.
MEETUP LOCATION
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Go to the slopes and you'll see some bench seating at the front. That's where we congregate.
GEAR REQUIRED
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Most bring their own boots, and some bring their own helmets to avoid having to use the centre's shared helmets (which can get a bit sweaty).
But if you forget, skis, boots, helmet and protection (hands, knees, elbows) are all available as part of the price.
Definitely no need for your own skis or board; the slopes use special skis & boards, which have the wax removed from the bottom, plus the skis are shorter.
